As a replacement for Gabriel Jesus, legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has asked club manager Mikel Arteta to sign Ollie Watkins, an attacker for Aston Villa, in January.
Seaman thinks Arteta’s squad will benefit from Watkins’ arrival because Jesus scored just twice in eleven Premier League games.
Despite being led offensively by Jesus, Unai Emery’s Arsenal lost 1-0 at to Aston Villa on the weekend, bringing them within one point of their top-four rivals.
The England star has scored eight goals and contributed six assists in sixteen appearances this season, though he was unable to find the back of the net in the weekend’s match against Arsenal at Villa Park.
“[Watkins] is a good shout,” Seaman stated on his program.
Actually, he’s a box striker, so yeah. I appreciate that he stays out of the build-up play.
At times, I feel like yelling, “No, come back to the center!” because I think Jesus is too far away. Everyone is talking about how the team would benefit from a new striker.
