Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders in Bayelsa State have spoken out against reports that All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Chief Timipre Sylva took INEC officials hostage in Twon-Brass, the administrative center for Brass Local Government Area in the state.

The APC candidate, according to a statement released by publicity secretary Ebiye Ogoli, attempted to falsify the result of the governorship election in the local government area by storming the INEC headquarters in Brass Island on Sunday. Sylva’s thugs reportedly took the electoral officers hostage after they rejected his advances.

Berepelenyo George Sibo, a young supporter of the PDP, was murdered in Twon-Brass by Sylva’s thugs, according to the PDP.

The group mourned the loss of the young guy, saying that it was caused by the actions of despicable political thugs who had been fostered and promoted by individuals who placed no value on human life.

The party claimed it was not shocked by Sylva’s behavior because it was typical of his violent political ideology.

Noting that the election shouldn’t be a life-or-death struggle, it asked the APC leader to think about this and the result in order to restore his reputation.
