Ex-Nasarawa State gubernatorial candidate and member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Mathew Avre Ombugaku, has formally defected.
On Saturday, at a luncheon honoring Senator Solomon Akku Ewuga at Lafia City Hall, he announced his defection.
Senator Solomon Akku Ewuga and the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, welcomed Ombugaku and other prominent politicians into the APC with open arms.
Dr Alfa Yusufu Tsenya, a former Nasarawa North senatorial candidate for the APGA; Aliyu Safiyanu, better known as Mai Zuma, a former House of Representatives candidate for the Social Democratic Party; Zubairu Abdullahi Musa and Musa Salihu Iyimoga, who represented the Doma North Constituency in the 6th Assembly as Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, members; and Chief Ombugaku are among the notable individuals who have defected to the APC, joining Chief Ombugaku.
Attendees at the reception included notable political personalities such as Jeremiah Umaru, Senator George Akume, Governor Abdullahi Sule, and Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
