Mason Mount, a Chelsea midfielder, is now undergoing medical examinations at Manchester United’s training complex in preparation for a possible move this summer.
Mount, who has a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, has agreed to a £60 million deal with the two Premier League clubs.
As preseason approaches, he has been granted permission to travel to Manchester to consummate the contract.
“Mason Mount, who is currently undergoing medical tests at Carrington, will sign until June 2028 with an option to extend until June 2029.”
“Plan confirmed as Manchester United prepare to unveil MM as their first signing of the summer,” Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer specialist, tweeted on Monday.
Mount will be Erik ten Hag’s first significant signing ahead of his second season as manager.
