Jose Mourinho, the manager of Roma, wants to loan Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood this summer.
Greenwood has not played football since January 2022, after being accused with rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault in 2021.
Despite the fact that the court dismissed all allegations against the young star, he remains suspended by the Red Devils, who are thought to be continuing their investigations.
Those allegations were withdrawn in February, but Greenwood has remained suspended by United, which is conducting its own inquiry into his actions.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils, is said to be unwilling to let go of the 21-year-old on a permanent basis.
The Dutchman believes that a loan move is the greatest option for him as the 2022-23 season approaches.
According to the Sun, Mourinho has spoken with Greenwood about joining the Serie A club on loan.
According to a newspaper source:
“Jose called Mason’s father and spoke with Mason.
“He told him that the best way to get out of his current situation is to start playing football — and that all the hassle will fade away eventually.”
“Mason was delighted that he contacted me, and it has lifted his spirits.”
“He wants to play again and is simply waiting for United to tell him what his future holds.”
