Reported collaboration between prison warders and terrorists has been characterized by the federal government as treasonable.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, minister of interior, condemned the accusation as heinous.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has previously accused certain jail personnel of assisting Boko Haram militants in plotting their terrorist operations, as reported by DAILY POST.
These warders were assisting terrorists in the movement of money, according to Musa.
“It is treasonable as far as I am concerned,” the minister declared during his appearance on Politics Today on Channels TV. You have violated your oath as an officer of the government by conspiring with terrorists, which undermines your responsibility to protect the nation. It is really revolting and cannot be tolerated.
Extraterrestrial, that is. An officer of the law would go to the level of conspiring with terrorists to attack the nation is something I simply cannot fathom. That constitutes an act of treason.
That is something that can never be ignored or covered up, no matter what. This accusation is really grave. In the interest of Nigerians, I want you to know that it is treasonous for anybody to try to compromise our country’s security.
