On Monday, the Federal Ministry of Works announced that the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State will be closed to traffic from Wednesday noon to Thursday noon. This closure will affect both bounds of the carriageways.
The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, made this statement public and available to journalists.
According to Kesha, the complete closure is a part of the bridge’s continuing renovation efforts.
So, during that crucial day, the bridge will not be open to traffic.
Consequently, throughout this period, drivers are strongly encouraged to find alternate routes. It was said that all inconveniences were greatly regretted.
In order to maintain smooth traffic flow during this time, drivers are asked to cooperate with the traffic management authorities who have been dispatched.
The Lagos State Government has already announced the bridge’s impending shutdown.
