Osun State is the site of the first protests staged by the Nigeria Labour Congress and other civil society organizations.
According to information received by MISMOB on Tuesday, the demonstration began in Osogbo’s Freedom Park.

Because of Nigeria’s present economic predicament, the protest was called upon.

The National Labor Council (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) had given the federal government a 14-day notice to go on strike on February 8, as reported by MISMOB. This was in response to the government’s failure to carry out the agreements that had been struck on October 2, after the gasoline subsidy had been removed.

The demonstration was sparked by the federal government’s inaction following the ultimatum.

In preparation for the countrywide demonstrations against the high cost of living, organized labor in Osun State started mobilizing its members last Monday.
