The Nigerian Army Council has given its approval for the promotion of 47 Brigadier Generals to Major General and the elevation of 75 Colonels to Brigadier General.

The following individuals were promoted to the rank of Major General: Brig Gen WB Etuk, Commandant of the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management, and Brig Gen JE Osifo, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration, as announced Thursday by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director, Army Public Relations.

Additionally, the following individuals have been promoted: Brigadier General WM Dangana, Commander of Sector 3 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, Brigadier General TB Ugiagbe, Acting Chief of Military Intelligence, Brigadier General ASM Wase, Deputy Director General Land Forces Stimulation Centre, Nigeria Operations, Brigadier General MA Abdullahi, Commandant Depot, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General BI Alaya, Commander, Command Engineering Depot, Brigadier General AO Oyelade, Director Personnel Planning, Army Headquarters, Department of Personnel Management, Brig Gen OO Arogundade, Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Electrical, and so on.

The following officers have been promoted to the rank of Brigadier General: Colonel Nwakonobi, Chief of Staff of Headquarters 3 Brigade; Colonel MC Akin Ojo, Commander of 41 Engineer Brigade; Colonel BM Madaki, Deputy Director of Army Headquarters, Operations Monitoring Team; Colonel MO Edide, Director of Staff Army War College Nigeria; Colonel KE Inyang, Commander of 76 ST Brigade; and Colonel OO Nafiu, Chief of Staff, Office of the Chief of Army Staff, among most of them.

The recently promoted senior officers and their families were congratulated by Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff.

On top of that, he told them to make even more of an effort to prove themselves worthy of their promotion and the trust bestowed upon them
