The world record for the longest handmade wig was set by a Nigerian wigmaker.
It was announced on Tuesday by Guinness World Records: “After constructing the underlay with wig-cap netting and black fabric attached to a bicycle helmet, she completed the hairpiece using 1,000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips.”
It was reported that the wig, measuring 351.28 meters (1,152 ft 5 in), took 11 days and almost two million naira (£2,031; $2,493) to make. The new record was set by Helen.
Helen claims that she has been a professional wigmaker for eight years and that she can manufacture anything from fifty to three hundred wigs in a single week.
She also claims to have created thousands of wigs and trained hundreds of students.
