In the midst of the firing, security personnel neutralized around 26 bandits, while the robbers themselves murdered six peasants.

This was confirmed to NAN on Saturday by Dr. Nasiru Muazu-Danmusa, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

We denounce the bandit attack on merchants traveling from Maidabino to Yantumaki market in Danmusa LGA.

At least six people, including two of the security guards accompanying the merchants, were killed and others injured in the ambush.

“According to reliable sources, security personnel killed at least 16 terrorists at the scene of the encounter, and many more managed to escape with gunshot wounds,” he stated.

On the other hand, the Commissioner asserted that the state’s battle against criminal activities such as banditry, kidnapping, and livestock rustling has made significant strides since Governor Dikko Radda took office.

The issue has been mitigated to a 60 percent level based on the credible reports we have been receiving from all around the state.

Terrorists “resorted to using other ways in perpetuating their heinous acts” after that, he added.
