The government of Ekiti State has promised its residents that they will soon no longer have to worry about the exorbitant costs of food and other necessities.

By launching both long-term and short-term plans to strengthen the economy and restore normalcy, the government expressed hope that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.

Despite the economic downturn and the associated hardships, the government has emphasized the importance of personal and environmental hygiene for better health and longer life expectancy.

At Ido-Ile Ekiti on Saturday, Chief (Mrs.)Monisade Afuye the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, made the promise while overseeing the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the development areas of Ekiti West Local Government and Okemesi/Ido Ile Local Council).

According to a statement released by Afuye’s Special Assistant on Media, Victor Ogunje, Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his staff are coming up with creative solutions to help Ekiti residents weather the current hyper-inflation.

According to her, the citizens were convinced that groundbreaking steps were being developed to address the crisis after the state approved an amount of N331 million for local governments to buy palliative supplies and the Price Control and Regulation Committee was established.

At the Palace of Olojudo of Ido Ile, Oba Aderemi Obaleye, Afuye reaffirmed that Ekiti will not tolerate any illness outbreak caused by residents’ negligence, while discussing the government’s fervent commitment to environmental sanitation.

Citizens should not let the present economic crisis deter them from keeping themselves clean in order to lower the morbidity and death rates, according to the administration.

Obaleye praised Oyebanji for accelerating Ekiti’s economic and infrastructure revitalization in his proposal.

Among the high-ranking government officials accompanying the Deputy Governor were Dr. Habibat Adubiaro, Secretary to the State Government, and Mr. Abayomi Opeyemi, Permanent Secretary in her office.
