Operation HADIN KAI troops successfully neutralized five Boko Haram terrorists and the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) attempting to enter into Nigeria from Cameroon.
Following intelligence tips, the terrorists were intercepted and neutralized as they lay in ambush along Bula Yobe-Darel Jamel in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
At a briefing at Defence Headquarters in Abuja, the recently appointed Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. ES Buba, who was represented by his deputy, Brig.-Gen. Abdullahi Ibrahim, revealed that, in addition to those slain, at least ten terrorists had been apprehended alive.
They also seized firearms, ammunition, and supplies such as wheat and detergent. The military also detained many terrorist collaborators.
“Troops of Operation HADIN KAI in the Northeast zone of the country have continued to intensify operations against terrorists, including their logistics suppliers and collaborators,” stated the senior military officer.
“In pursuit of this, troops laid ambush along Bula Yobe-Darel Jamel in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State on 22 June 2023, following an intelligence report on terrorists crossing from Cameroon to Nigeria, and made contact with the terrorists.”
“Following a firefight, troops neutralized 5 Boko Haram Terrorists/Islamic State of West African Province terrorists and recovered 1 bag each of flour and detergent.”
