Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose says he will not hesitate to call out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if he breaks campaign pledges to Nigerians.

Fayose told reporters after meeting with President Tinubu at the Aso Villa on Thursday that he is not afraid to speak out when things go wrong.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the press, let me tell you that if Asiwaju breaks any of his campaign promises, I will be the first to speak out.”

“I am not afraid of challenges,” the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader added.

According to him, he is not frantic to join Tinubu’s administration, but he would support the government in fulfilling its pledges.

“I will never be an APC member.” I am a PDP man; if anything forces me out of the PDP or if I don’t engage in partisan politics again, I will remain my wife’s husband at home.

“It is not a party issue; Nigeria is larger than all political parties and interest groups combined.” I’ll say it again: you don’t need to make an appointment to make a difference.

“We all can’t be on the appointment, whether in the APC or in the attempt to have a government of national unity, because Nigeria has a population of about 200 million,” the former governor stated.
