Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde claims his state is among the safest in the country.
At the 2023 Intra-Africa Trade Fair (IATF) in Cairo, Egypt, Makinde made this proclamation.
The governor, while speaking, stated that he has been operating a responsible and responsive government since he was installed in 2019.
He emphasized that Oyo State’s enormous geography and robust road infrastructure network are additional advantages beyond its relatively high level of safety.
Makinde noted that his administration had begun an intensive program of infrastructure improvement in 2019 that had linked all regions of the state.
In light of this, we are recommending that investors participate in all of these. Investors’ primary concern is likely the availability of a secure setting. I believe that in Oyo State, we have nearly reached that point.
We have one of the lowest crime rates of any state in the Union. We have invested enormously in security, and in terms of a responsive government, I came from a private sector experience and I was able to let the investors know that they are going to a state where government business is handled with speed,” he added.
