Nwankwo Kanu, a former Super Eagles captain, has been appointed manager of Nigeria Premier League champions Enyimba.
Kanu will take over as club president from Felix Anyansi-Agwu.
The appointment of the former Arsenal forward was announced in a statement issued by Abia State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu.
He is anticipated to help the team win more awards.
Kanu’s immediate task is to assist the Peoples’ Elephant in successfully defending their title from the previous season.
The Aba giants will also compete in the CAF Champions League, hoping to win their third crown.
Enyimba is Nigeria’s most successful club, having won nine NPL crowns, two CAF Champions Leagues, two CAF Super Cups, and four Federation Cups.
