The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has stated that contract negotiations with Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro are ongoing.

Peseiro’s previous deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expired earlier this month.

According to reports, the Portuguese have been offered a pay cut to continue in command of the three-time African champions.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach is also thought to be open to the new situation.

Augustine Eguavoen, the NFF’s technical director, intimated that Peseiro will remain in command of the Super Eagles.

“At the moment, he is in charge, we are discussing in-house, and we are giving him conditions as well,” Eguavoen told reporters at the completion of the first FIFA Instructor’s Course in Abuja.

“Because we are adaptable, it could work for both sides, and once we find common ground, why not?” He went on to say.
Peseiro is scheduled to coach the Super Eagles in their dead rubber 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe in September.
