Manchester United has made an unusual request of David De Gea, urging him not to sign with another club despite enabling him to go on a free transfer.
The Spanish goalkeeper officially left Old Trafford on Friday after his contract expired.

United were initially eager to bind De Gea to a new contract, and an agreement was struck on new terms with lower pay.

De Gea had signed a new contract, only for the Premier League heavyweights to withdraw their offer.

A new agreement has yet to be reached, resulting in his departure, although United’s demands continue even after his departure.

The Red Devils have reportedly advised De Gea not to consent to a move elsewhere.

They want De Gea to remain available in case they cannot acquire a new number one goalkeeper.

United have been connected with Inter Milan’s Andre Onana and FC Porto’s Diogo Costa.
