The hosts came back with Robert Mizo grabbing the equaliser three minutes before the break.
Mizo scored his sixth goal of the season, moving him to the top of the league’s scoring charts.
Lobi Stars won 1-0 in the 67th minute thanks to a goal by Tiza.
Sporting Lagos defeated the defending champions, Kano Pillars, 3-0 in Lagos.
Junior Lokosa, a former attacker for the Pillars, scored twice against his old team.
Sporting Lagos’s other goal was scored by Jonathan Alukwu.
