Dino Melaye, candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, has promised his supporters that his dismal showing in the state’s recent off-cycle governorship election is not the end of the fight.
Melaye asked his people to keep their resolve and determination.
Daily Post readers may remember that on Saturday, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Usman Ododo defeated Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Murtala Ajaka and Melaye in the governor’s race.
Melaye, in his criticism of the election’s administration, had claimed that the poll had been rigged in favor of the APC candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Melaye told his supporters to keep a positive attitude despite the election’s outcome.
In a video posted to his social media page, Melaye said, “Just to encourage all my supporters and lovers all over the country and in Kogi State that please don’t be disenchanted, disillusioned, don’t be perturbed, don’t be disturbed, just carry on because, at the end of the day, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
“Have confidence, fortify yourself with strength, resolve, and the knowledge that we will prevail. We know this isn’t the end of the fight, but we’re not going to stress over it.
