Mason Mount has told Chelsea fans that a transfer to Manchester United is “what’s right for me right now in my career.”
On Tuesday, the England international addressed his fans in a social media video.
Mount has agreed to join United on a five-year contract for £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
The midfielder joined Chelsea at the age of six and understands that some Blues fans would be disappointed with his departure.
“I’ve made the decision to leave Chelsea,” stated the 24-year-old.
“I believe you deserve more than a written statement, so I wanted to thank you personally for all of your help over the last 18 years.”
“I know some of you will be disappointed with my decision, but it is what is best for me at this point in my career.”
