Unknown kidnappers have released the two wives of the chairman of the Kiyawa Local Government Council in Jigawa State.
In a statement released Tuesday evening, police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam verified their freedom.
According to MISMOB, a group of armed men stormed the couple’s house on Friday night and abducted the two women.
This is what the announcement says: “The two wives of Kiyawa LG chairman have been released by their abductors at Ningi LGA of Bauchi State.”
The statement said the victims were reunited with their families, but it didn’t say whether the police rescued them or if a ransom was paid to the criminals.
According to MISMOB, a family member has revealed that ransom was paid in order to secure their release.
