Enugu State is one of the states chosen by the federal government to participate in the e-governance pilot training program that will begin in the first quarter of 2024.
This was discussed during a Tuesday visit to the office of Dr. Malachy Agbo, the Enugu State Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication, by a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy led by Engr. Ekworo MalcDonald, Chief Programme Analyst, and Mrs. Oriloye Elizabeth, Principal Programme Analyst.
They claimed that at the end of the pilot program, 100 government employees would have been equipped with the e-governance and IT skills necessary to better carry out their duties.
They lauded the state administration under Dr. Peter Mbah for initiating an e-governance programme in the state and noted that the governor’s ambition for the IT education of state employees was realized.
Agbo thanked the ministry for selecting Enugu location as a pilot location for the training and affirmed that the state possesses enough facilities for the program.
He underlined that the state government had started the process of moving from manual to digital procedures in its various ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to boost job efficiency and effectiveness.
