Gbenga Ogunbote, head coach of the Shooting Stars, expressed his team’s relief after their 1-0 win over Bayelsa United.
Ogunbote was ecstatic that the team finally broke their losing streak of six games.
The game’s lone goal came from Kareem Ademola, who now has five for the season.
For the squad, I believe it’s a huge relief. “Honestly, you would think that after six games without a win, the confidence level would have dropped,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
“We experienced a dip in confidence, but our main goal was to regain our winning form, and we have achieved that.”
With the win, Shooting Stars climbed to the tenth spot in the standings.
In a matchday 18 southwest derby in Lagos, the Oluyole Warriors will take on Sporting Lagos.
