The loss was carelessness, according to Shooting Stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote.

At the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday, the Oluyole Warriors lost to the Lobi Stars by a score of 2-1.

In the first few minutes of the game, Lobi Stars took the lead thanks to a goal from Waheed Adebayo, but Shooting Stars quickly responded with a goal from Gideon Monday.

Orji Kalu’s penalty kick with five minutes remaining gave the Pride of Benue the win.

Ogunbote expressed regret that his squad did not win by at least one point.

He said in an interview after the game, “In the game, at worst, we deserved a point but unfortunately, it came the other way round.”

To paraphrase, “We are a little bit careless with the penalty, but we take the positives from the game and move on.”

The current table position for Shooting Stars is third.
