Former presidential adviser Laolu Akande has spoken out against former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike.

Wike is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, but Akande, who was a spokesperson for former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, questioned why he is unable to oversee his own appointed governor.

Wike is currently the second most powerful politician in Nigeria, according to Laolu, who also expressed disappointment that the former governor of Rivers State had not behaved as expected.

According to MISMOB, 27 assembly members loyal to Wike defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the destruction of the State House of Assembly Complex ushered in a new phase of the political crisis raging through Rivers State this week.

President Bola Tinubu tried to mediate a compromise between Wike and Governor Fubara, who happens to be Wike’s godson, but to no avail.

It is disheartening to see what is transpiring in Rivers State. Many individuals held the FCT Minister in high esteem…”It’s clear that Wike was the type of guy who got things done and earned the reputation,” Akande stated on Channels Television.

You might have heard of him as “Mr. Project” and everything. You have a great deal of political respect for Wike. After the president, Nyesom Wike stands out as the most prominent politician in this country today.

So, when you reach that degree of political significance, you really need to be graceful and measured with the expectations people have of you.
