The warning was made on Monday in Yenagoa by Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun during a social visit with Governor Douye Diri.

Egbetokun assured the public that the police and other security authorities will do everything in their power to guarantee fair elections.

He emphasized that anyone who caused trouble would have to face legal consequences.

The IGP reassured the people of Bayelsa that the police and other security services would act impartially before, during, and after the exercise.

He said that the increased police presence across the state had been ordered to prevent electoral violence.

There are only four days left till the election, and you know it. In my opinion, the police, along with other security organizations, will be able to provide sufficient protection on November 11.

Elections will be held in the states of Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo. The police and other security forces, it is my understanding, have chosen a stand of neutrality.

But our soldiers on the ground in Bayelsa will not back down until they find out who is trying to disrupt the election with criminal intent. They will have the whole of us to contend with,” Egbetokun informed the governor.
