Miss Flourish Ajibola, winner of Nigeria’s national spelling bee, has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, to prepare for the international competition.

Following the fulfillment of Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to cover the expenses for the international competition, Ajibola and her instructor, Mr. Gbenga Ogunlade, departed Nigeria over the weekend.

In a meeting with Ado Ekiti, a student at Saint Lawrence Metropolitan School, and Laurence Oluwafemi, the owner of the school, two months ago, Governor Oyebanji promised to pay for Ajibola’s expenses so that she could compete at the world championship in Uganda. This was reported in the Daily Post.

The forthcoming competition in Kampala was fully sponsored by Ajibola, as the Ekiti State governor had previously given his approval.
