Samuel Suswam, a former governor of Benue State, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s planned budget for 2024.
According to Suswam, the budget is unworkable due to its N17 trillion deficit.
During Wednesday’s meeting of the National Assembly, Tinubu recommended a budget of N27.5 trillion for the fiscal year of 2024.
The budget, according to Suswam, was prepared because those in charge were incompetent.
On Wednesday, the former governor addressed a group of twenty-five fellows from the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship.
If you believe Suswam, the budget shortfall amounts to N17 trillion out of the whole budget.
This is a waiver since the deficit is N9 trillion, the debt service is N8 trillion, and the tax expenditure is N2.7 trillion.
It follows that the full N27 trillion budget cannot be carried out. Have you ever wondered why we have that? The reason being that our current leadership is devoid of any intellectual substance.
