The governorship and state assembly elections have been postponed till March 18 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The election was initially set for March 11.

Nevertheless, following a meeting of its executives on Wednesday evening, the commission announced that the election could not be held as planned due to a logistics dilemma caused by BVAS configuration and transportation.

The commission had persuaded the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to modify its order granting Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party permission to inspect election materials on the grounds that it needed to reconfigure the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) for the polls this Saturday.
