A student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, named Enitan Subair, began a hand wash-a-thon on Friday with the goal of breaking the Guinness World Record.

She informed the GWR in June 2023, and she was granted until November 24 to begin her effort.

The student government at the institution rallied behind the sophomore studying African languages and linguistics.

Subair was certain that she would retain her record for the most consecutive hours of hand-washing when she spoke before she really began the marathon task.

Abbas Akinremi-Ojo, president of the Student Union, said that an ambulance, lights, and other resources will be provided to help her win the competition.

The administration, as articulated by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor John Odedire, has stated that the school will do all it takes to help her break the record.
