On Tuesday, a car incident in the village of Takalafia on the Yawuri Expressway in the Magama Local Government Area of Niger State killed at least seventeen people.
In a statement made in Abuja, FRSC Public Education Officer Mr. Bisi Kazeem confirmed the incident had occurred.
According to Kazeem, the incident happened at 3 a.m., and 229 persons were involved: 220 men, 4 women, and 5 little boys.
He claims that speeding on the part of a DAF articulated vehicle contributed to the incident.
According to Kazeem, 207 people were rescued, including 206 men, 1 woman, and 1 boy, all of whom were injured to varying degrees.
The crash claimed the lives of 17 people. The injured individuals have been transferred to Kontagora General Hospital, Niger, for prompt medical assistance.
Dead bodies, he claimed, were taken to the hospital’s morgue.
