On Friday, an Upper Area Court in Karu, Abuja, remanded Shedrach Johnson, a job candidate who pleaded guilty to stealing 100 plastic chairs.
According to the Nigerian News Agency, Johnson was charged with criminal trespass and theft.

Malam Hassan Mohammed, the judge, delayed the sentence and adjourned the case until March 24 for sentencing.

The convict was remanded in the Keffi Custodial Facility, according to Mohammed.

Earlier, Mr Olarewaju Osho, the prosecution’s lawyer, informed the court that the case was reported by one Pastor Uche Eke of Gidan Daya, Orozo, Abuja.

Osho testified in court that the convict broke into the complainant’s church and took 100 plastic chairs.

as well as three bottles of water.

He stated that the criminal was apprehended with the assistance of security personnel on duty, and that three plastic chairs and a bag of bottled water were retrieved from him.

Johnson entered a guilty plea but begged for mercy.
