The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged President Bola Tinubu to probe Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo in addition to suspended Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister Betta Edu.

Based on allegations that he was involved in an N438.1 million consulting deal with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Tunji-Ojo need to face investigation, according to NANS.

The president of NANS, Pedro Obi, signed a statement on Tuesday that contained this information.

The N585 million that the federal government supposedly sent to Betta’s personal account led to her suspension.

But there are claims that Tunji-Ojo’s purportedly owned firm, New Planet Project Limited, had accepted N438.1 million in consulting fees from Edu’s ministry.

During an appearance on a Monday TV show, Tunji-Ojo acknowledged his ties to the firm but stated that he left in 2019 while running for the House of Representatives..
