A number of state commands and formations have been assigned Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs), thanks to the approval of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

One of the goals of the appointment, according to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer at Force Headquarters in Abuja, was to improve communication and involvement with the community.

It is the duty of the newly appointed officers to strengthen linkages between the communities they patrol and the Nigeria Police Force.

Officers SP Ayuba Tunni Umma, SP Hauwa Idris Adamu, DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi, ASP Unah Paul Echefunachi, ASP Rufa’i Ahmed, and ASP Musa Mohammed have all been posted to different police stations: PPRO Zone 2, Lagos for SP Ayuba Tunni Umma, PPRO Sokoto, PPRO Ebonyi, PPRO Kwara State, PPRO Kwara State, and PPRO Ebonyi, in that order.

Likewise, ASP Abuka Pius is now serving as a staff officer at Force Headquarters, Abuja, in the Public Complaint Bureau of the Force Public Relations Department.

A strong emphasis on community engagement in police is emphasized by the Inspector General of Police, who urges the recently assigned officers to collaborate closely with the communities they protect.

The IGP ordered them to solidify the principles of community policing and the programs aimed at strengthening their respective commands and formations.
