According to Ogundare Dare, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, the robbers who broke into a bank in Ikere-Ekiti on Wednesday were able to get away in three cars and two motorcycles.
The CP verified the thieves fled into the bush after being aggressively engaged by security officers, according to a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti by Sunday Abutu, the public relations officer of the police command.
In the statement, it was mentioned that CP Dare, who revealed the information during an on-site assessment, ordered the Ikere Area Commander and all tactical units under his direction to guarantee that those responsible be punished.
Later on, he urged anyone with information on the whereabouts and names of armed robbers to call the police.
