In a statement posted on Sunday at 2:10 pm, the Carter Center, the couple’s non-profit organization, confirmed her death.
The world lost a fierce fighter for mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights on June 11 when Rosalynn Carter passed away at her home in Plains, Georgia.
Rosalynn Carter, 96, former first lady and advocate for mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights, died on Sunday, November 19 at her home in Plains, Georgia. She died quietly, with family by her side,” the Carter Center added.
