Desmond Elliot, a Nollywood actor turned politician, has won the Surulere constituency 1 assembly seat in Lagos State for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The results were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Dr. O. J. Fenuga, after a hotly contested election with a high voter turnout in the constituency.
As the results were tallied, Elliot received 17,877 votes, while the Labour Party candidate received 7,822 votes.
In an Instagram reaction to his victory, Elliot stated that he is open and prepared to work with his opponents in the recently concluded LGA elections.
