The LP has demanded that the Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker declare the 27 members’ seats vacant after they defected to the APC.
A new election to fill the empty seats was also demanded by Hilda Dokubo, the chairman of the Rivers State LP.
Dokubo characterized the betrayal as unlawful in a statement she annotated.
Dokubo claims that lawmakers who deserted their party will face the consequences laid out in the clause.
Consequently, the Labour Party is demanding that the Speaker of the House proclaim the 27 seats vacant without delay.
The ruling elite should know better than to take advantage of the voters and the political parties that backed them in the past.
