Twelve people have been approved to run for governor of Edo State on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The ruling party’s primary elections were supposed to take place on February 22.

The screening exercise was conducted throughout the course of Thursday and Friday, according to a statement signed by Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, the National Organizing Secretary.

The committee has cleared Prince Clem Agba, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Lucky Imasuen, Anamero Sunday Dekeri, Pastor Osagie Andrew Ize-Iyamu, and Engr. Gideon Ikhine.

Among others, there is Blessing Agbomhere, Danis Idahosa, Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, Colonel David Imuse, and retired professor Oserheinmen Osunbor.

“The National Organising Secretary will present the Certificate of Screening to all the 12 Gubernatorial Aspirants at the Party’s National Secretariat on Saturday, 10th February, 2024,” the statement continued.

The 12 candidates who win the party’s nomination in the primary election will face off for the governorship on September 21, according to MISMOB
