President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has advised Nigerians to bear ‘baby steps of pain’ as a result of the economic changes implemented by his administration since assuming office.
Tinubu stated this on Thursday during a private visit to the palace of the Alake and Paramount monarch of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, saying that as President, he has also taken some baby steps and is “not ready to march the ground in a hurry.”
“Let us band together. Let us concentrate. There are no distractions. We will reach a positive conclusion for our country, and it is all in our hands. We will reap the benefits of our labor through the mercy of God Almighty.
“Nigeria will see positive changes as we progress; we just need to take these baby steps of pain.” As president, I, too, am taking baby steps, not hurrying, being ready to listen, maintaining an open door policy, allowing freedom to flow, and restoring confidence in Nigeria. This is the only country that we have. I used to be a refugee. “I understand what it’s like to be a refugee,” Tinubu remarked.
According to the President, he returned to the palace to thank him for his campaign support.
“I credit you for delivering despite the hardships of no money and no fuel.” I’m not sure how it will go, I just wanted to slip in and out to visit Kabiesi. Now I understand what it’s like to be president.
“By being here, I have fulfilled my promise to return with victory and the crown.” Now, all I need is for prayers that will aid the country, and for us to be determined to help our country, to steer the ship of the nation, to establish a good team, to be positive for this country, and to deliver on all of my promises.
“The hope has been recharged, and it has arrived.” That hope will never wane, and it will positively revitalize your life. I’m still here making that campaign commitment that there is no difference between us. “We need your prayers, your support, and your interventions to change our minds,” he continued.
